Rob Perry, joined the Access course at Brockenhurst College in 2008 to ‘build a better future’ and change his career path. Leaving his investment banking job behind, Rob signed up on the one year course with an end goal of going on to study the subject at Liverpool John Moores University. Just three years later Rob has fulfilled his ambition gaining a First in his degree and has just found out that he has been accepted on to a Masters in history at Southampton University. Rob says; “I put this success down to the great preparation I received from the Access course and the tutors help!”

Even though it is a distance to travel I chose Brockenhurst College as it has a good reputation. Tutors are always available to help, be it face-to-face or by email. The course fits nicely with my part-time work.

I've found it challenging going back to College after being a busy housewife but the lecturers have been very patient and always on hand to help if needed. I've come a long way since September - my confidence has grown and I feel like I'm achieving my goal of progressing to university to study Sociology. I would definitely recommend the course to others considering Higher Education as I'm really loving the course and meeting new people!
