Continuing Education
This pathway is set at the Pre-Foundation/Foundation level and will be suitable for you if you have benefited from special education or have come from a secondary school which has been able to give you specialised educational support.You will be offered an individual learning programme which uses your existing strengths and is also designed for your particular needs. Core studies will include Literacy, Numeracy and Life Skills. You will also be given opportunities to sample work in a variety of areas across the College.
You will be encouraged at all times to join in with the students in other areas of the College. Particular subjects on offer will include:

- Sport
- Child Care
- Health Studies
- Joinery
- Metalwork
- Drama
- Independent Living Skills
- Motor Vehicles
- Information Technology
- Art
- Ceramics
- Work Preparation
Your practical and academic skills will be recognised in a variety of ways including nationally recognised qualifications, e.g. Edexel skills for working life/life skills, GCSEs and City and Guilds.
You will also have the opportunity for a work experience placement in the vocational area of your choice. The course provides a framework within which you can work towards your future career aims.
During the two year programme individuals with a particular interest/strength are supported to study at NVQ, GCSE and AS/A level as appropriate alongside their Continuing Education course. You may be able to join this course as part of a GCSE programme if you have disabilities that will mean you will need a significant amount of personal support
