Starting salaries for a general construction operative or labourer can be anything up to £15,000 a year.
• Qualified Operatives - Qualified Operatives often earn in excess of £17,000 to £20,500 per year
• Experienced operatives - Experienced Operatives that have extra responsibilities could earn in excess of £24,000 a year.
If you specialise in a construction trade, or progress on to site supervision, the salary can potentially increase; it is possible to earn in excess of £30,000 a year depending on your chosen occupation.
