Brockenhurst College celebrates A level success in its centenary year

Maintaining an outstanding overall pass rate of 99%, Brockenhurst College is today celebrating the success of A level students who completed their courses this summer.
Half of students gained A*-B grades, with three quarters of all students achieving A*-C grades across all subjects. Two thirds of STEM subject students gained A*-B grades (Physics, Maths, Chemistry and Biology). AS level course results were also excellent, with an overall pass rate of 92%.
Brock student Jack Case, from Christchurch, achieved 4 A/A* in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Economics and has a place at Cambridge to study Maths. “I am delighted with my results; the support at Brock has been excellent,” Jack said. “My tutors went above and beyond the syllabus to help me get the results I needed.”
Tom Homan, from Lymington, gained four A/A* grades in Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and Biology and plans to go to Bath University to study Bio-Chemical Engineering. Tom said: “The science and maths department at Brock has great teachers, great resources and a great working environment. I am going to miss all my teachers a lot!”
Another student, Harriet Olorenshaw, from Lyndhurst gained 3 A/A* in Maths, Chemistry and Economics. Harriet said: “I’m really happy with my results and very excited to be going to Bristol to study Economics. My tutors were all so enthusiastic and helped me reach my goals.”
George Cooper from Romsey got 4 A*/A in Maths, Computing, Economics and Physics and is going to the University of Southampton to study Computer Science. George said: “I did even better than expected and am extremely pleased. The many practical projects on my course were especially helpful."
Callum Watson from Southampton got A*/A grades in Maths, Further Maths and Physics and is off to Birmingham to study Mechanical Engineering. Callum has just finished his third year at Brock to get the results he wanted, and said: “The support here has been fantastic and I’ve had so much help with my study.”
Principal, Di Roberts said: “Once again, Brockenhurst College students have attained outstanding A level results and I am tremendously proud of their individual achievements in this, our centenary year. I also take pride in the overall success of the College and thank the staff and parents for the part they have played in our students’ achievements. This is, as always, a great day of celebration for us all and I wish all the students who leave us today every success for the future.”
