In 2011 our students experienced a wealth of global opportunities:
  • Brock became the first College in the UK to be awarded Confucius Classroom status, one of only 22 institutions in the UK to have this internationally renowned recognition for the teaching of Mandarin and Chinese culture & students took part in our annual China exchange programme visiting Beijing and attending school in Chengdu
  • Laura Edwards and Bethany Woodward represented their country in the Commonwealth Games in India, Hayley Davis and Jordan Ainley participated in the Junior Golf Championship held in Abu Dhabi
  • Music and Art students went to Florence, Film Studies students to Berlin, Performing Arts students to Paris and Media Studies to Prague
  • Hospitality students, as part of our International Hotel School, worked with visiting professional chefs from around the world
  • We took students skiing in Italy, to play golf in Turkey and to the Basketball Academy in New York

 

 

  • Geography students studied in Morocco, Travel and Tourism students in Marrakech and Language students in France, Germany and Spain
  • Henry Lloyd Williams and Sam Batten competed in Turkey in the international Young National sailing championship, securing first place
  • Louise Egremont and Megan Robertson gained places on the prestigious IBM Futures pre-university programme
  • Students involved with the Libra Foundation visited Romania over the summer, where they undertook voluntary work in the country’s orphanages
  • Vicky Buckle, one of our Public Service students, attended the Normandy Veterans D-Day
  • Engineering, Photomedia and Hospitality students showcased their work for the French Aquitaine Regional Government
  • Rugby player Georges Berthonneau was signed by French team Toulon, joining the same team as Jonny Wilkinson.
