Health and Wellbeing at Brockenhurst College

Your health and wellbeing is very important to us which is why we have lots of support in place if you need guidance, someone to listen to you or general advice.

Counselling

If things get on top of you, we have experienced and qualified staff who can listen to your worries, offer support and help you to move forward. Appointments are confidential and staff are here to give you help and support when you need it. Counselling allows you to talk over problems with an objective listener who will support you and not judge you.
 
Problems you may wish to discuss could include eating disorders, drug use, bereavement, sexuality, realtionaships or depression. These are just a few examples, we understand that problems can come in many shapes and sizes and we offer our services to anyone with any sort of difficulty.
 
Located in the Counselling Room (Student Services corridor), there are a few ways to make an appointment;
  • Put your initials up on the notice board (outisde the Counselling Room)
  • Telephone 01590 625252 and leave a message and contact details (this is a confidential answerphone)
  • Put a note under the Counselling Room door with your contact detailson and we will contact you

Staying Healthy

Brockenhurst College offers a full range of support and advice related to your health and medical needs. Located in the Medical Room, on the main corridor between Reception and the entrance to the Hard Brock Café, we have a College Nursing team who can assist with first aid emergencies, known medical conditions, or advise with any issues you may have around general health and wellbeing, first aid and sexual health. Visit Sarah or Kerrie between 9.00am – 3.00p or contact them on;

Medical Questionnaire

All new students are required to fill out a medical questionnaire to ensure that we have essential information and your next of kins contact detils in case of a First Aid emergency. Medical information will be made available to qualified First Aiders/College Nurses in emergency situations. If your / your son/daughter’s situation changes at any time during their course please advise us accordingly. Please return the completed questionnaire to the Student Services Counter.

The downloadable Medical Questionnaire can be found to the right of this page. (Please note that international students will be given a printed copy on induction day so do not need to downlaod this form).
