Social Life

We have a vibrant social scene at Brock, from the social activities organised by the Students’ Union to the varied Enrichment programme and the laid back friendly atmosphere on campus - you are bound to make friends for life!
Students’ Union
Our elected Students' Union (SU) is run by students for students, giving all learners a voice which can be heard at governing body level. Elections take place in the autumn term where all students are encouraged to take part in the ‘Hustings’ to campaign as a candidate or to vote for their favourite.
Aside from dealing with important College issues, the SU arranges social functions such as the Bands' Nights and Christmas and Leavers' balls and organises regular charity events. This year’s events have included:

- Freshers events
- Children in Need fundraising
- Christmas Fayre
- Christmas ‘Snow Ball’ (Black tie)
- Comic Relief fundraising
- Leavers Photo
- Summer Ball
When you sign up for your course you automatically become a member of the College SU. The SU is associated with the NUS, a national body representing students interests in colleges and universities across the country. If you also want to join the NUS you can sign up for membership on their website. The NUS card costs £10 and as a member you will have access to student discounts in loads of high street shops. SU president Joanne Jayerajah says “At Brock students' views really matter. You can get involved and make an impact on the College during your time as a student or just enjoy all that it has to offer with its excellent formal and informal social activities.”
