Bus timetables and frequently asked questions

Our extensive College bus network enables students to come to College from a wide area including Lymington, Christchurch, Wimborne, Ringwood, Fordingbridge, Totton, Southampton, Romsey, Salisbury, the Isle of Wight and numerous other towns and villages. We also have the facility to provide a Link bus pass that enables Students to use a service bus which will connect them with a College bus pick up point or South West Train railway station

From experience we have found that there are often some "settling down" issues with the bus services at the beginning of the year as we balance the numbers of students on buses and adjust to new stops. To assist you with any queries you may have, we have put together the most frequently asked questions and in the first instance you should refer to these to see if other people have asked the same question.

Please note that the lunchtime buses C6 & C16 run from the autumn until May half term and are then reviewed. This year the Ringwood C16 will continue to operate in June & July, however the Waterside C6 will stop. All other College buses run as normal.

Wilts & Dorset Buses have detailed the terms & conditions of using service & College buses  and these include

  • For all buses, students must have either a College Bus pass or temporary pass, available from the Student Information Counter
  • If they have neither, they will be asked to pay the normal fare. If they cannot, they will be asked to produce their student id card as proof that they are a student
  • Students who cannot pay and cannot confirm they are a student at Brockenhurst College may be refused travel
  • Students travelling home by service bus must do so before 7.30pm, however the time restriction on travelling to college has been removed

College Bus Timetables

The College bus timetable is available to view and the routes are included in the guide to Student Travel. Please note that the Pick up points and timings may change as late travel applications are added to the system.

The key changes to bus travel from last year are:

·         The C3 bus has been merged mainly with the C2 and C4 service. Please note that your bus number may have changed as a result of this.

·         There is no longer a pick up point at Ringwood – Hunters Lodge; the stop at the White Hart Pub at Ringwood is in very close proximity to this stop.

·         The C12 bus from Salisbury and C12 Relief bus (now C19) have been split into 2 separate routes. The C12 will start from Salisbury College and the C19 will start from Salisbury Bus Depot. Please ensure you are aware which bus route/number you require – please refer to the updated Bus Timetable document in this section of the website.

·         The C7 bus has been re-routed to include Foxlease, Coxlease and Ashurst replacing part of the C5 route.

·         For those students who wish to leave college at lunchtime, please note that the lunchtime buses C6 and C16 are now chargeable at £1 per single journey.

Please Note: The bus timetables have been revised by Wilts and Dorset and some of the timings will have changed slightly. Please check the timing for your stop to ensure you don’t miss your bus!
