Your complaint will be investigated by a senior manager who will contact you within five working days. Should the matter not be resolved to your satisfaction, you have the right to speak to the College Principal directly on the matter.

Y our views matter

Brockenhurst College values input from students as a means of improving your learning and overall experience. We collect these views through focus groups, surveys and regular meetings with the Students’ Union. Here is a summary of views you expressed during 2010 and the actions we have taken as a result.

 

You asked for: More social space at the main College site

We have:

  • Provided a new large covered space, with seating, in the quadrangle
  • Built a brand new Construction Skills Centre at Marchwood with enlarged social space 

 

You asked for: More computers 

We have:

  • Provided an additional mobile lap-top trolley equipped with 22 PC laptops in E block
  • Extended the wireless network
  • Replaced the computers in Art with Apple Macs
  • Increased the number of open access, higher spec, laptops both upstairs and downstairs of the LRC

 

You asked for: Reduced cost of travel and improved flexibility of travel

We have:

  • Reviewed the pricing structure and held any increase for 2010/2011 to the level of inflation only
  • Planned trials for replacing bus passes with Smart Cards which will enable access to a wider bus network

 

You asked for: Improved refreshment facilities and wider choice of food

We have:

  • Extended the opening hours for Brock Bytes Internet Café
  • Widened choice of food and introduced themed weeks of food from across the world
  • Introduced a loyalty scheme

 

Working with the Students’ Union, we are developing the Student Parliament to establish what is important to you at the moment and what suggestions you have for further improvement and development.
