Principal's Welcome
Brock has been in existence since 1913 and has evolved into one of the most successful tertiary and sixth form Colleges in the UK. Our popularity reflects the high quality recognised by past and present students and by the Inspectorate, Ofsted. We had Outstanding Inspections in 2004 and in 2008, in which we received the highest grades possible, placing us in the elite group of colleges in the country. This was again confirmed in our Ofsted Monitoring Inspection in 2009, when we were once more graded Outstanding. The College achieved Beacon status from the DfES in 2005.
We are the first choice sixth form for more than 3,000 school leavers recruited from an area embracing the New Forest, Bournemouth & Poole, East Dorset, Southampton Waterside, South Wiltshire and the Isle of Wight.
We enrol more than 8,000 part-time adult students on a range of qualification courses and we provide tailor made training programmes of the highest quality for local and regional businesses and employers.
Our success comes from a clear focus on our vision and core values, and a single minded purpose to help people make the most of their lives through learning. We are an inclusive college and have an open access policy that admits each and every individual to the course of their choice and from which they can benefit.
- That learning has the power to unlock the potential of each individual
- A belief in educational and social inclusion
- We care about people
- We commit to unequivocal excellence in all we do
- That the future should be embraced through creativity and innovation
It was the first century AD philosopher and one time Greek slave Epictetus who wrote: 'only the educated are free.' At Brock we are passionate about education and the contribution that learning can make to the fulfilment of people's lives. To this end, we have committed ourselves to being the best and we work continuously to make this happen. Our focus is the learner and how we can enrich his or her experience.
Our Vision is to be the best college in the country.
This website will give you the information and guidance you need to share it - the Brock experience - and I invite you to open the pages.
