Opening Hours
The facilities at Highwood Nursery are open from Monday to Friday 8.00am - 6.00pm We are open 50 weeks of the year. We are closed on Bank Holidays and for two weeks over Christmas and the New Year usually linked with the Hampshire school holidays.
- Sessions within the Nursery are booked on an hourly basis. However, we do require that your child attends a minimum of 4 hours per day (with the exception of those children in receipt of EYE funding) and these sessions will need to be between 8.00am - 1.00pm or 1.00pm - 6.00pm.
- Sessions within the Baby Unit must be either 4 hours (half day) or 8 hours (full day).
- Sessions within the main Nursery must be a minimum of 4 hours but additional hours can be extended to the afternoon eg 9.00am -3.00pm
- Sessions within the Pre-School can be booked flexibly and on an hourly basis while we are taking part in the pathfinder project.
- We also offer a limited number of term time only spaces but unfortunately they are not available in the Baby Unit.
One month's written notice is required if you no longer wish your child to attend the Nursery, or if you need to change your child's hours. Occasional alterations can be made if staffing allows. This must be confirmed in advance with a senior member of staff.
Hours must be adhered to due to required staffing ratios.
In the event of late arrival collecting your child, you will be charged for any extra time at your normal rate if it is before 6.00pm. After 6.00pm you will be charged £7.50 per half hour. Please see our policy in the event of a parent failing to collect a child.
Absence or Sickness
Full payment will be required for occasional absence or sickness, or if a child is sent home due to being unwell while at Nursery.
Holidays
You will get two weeks absence at half fees per year for family holidays e.g. if your child attends two days per week then you will get 4 days a year at half fees. You may use this concession at any time throughout the year but we will need at least one week's prior notification of your child's absence. Your year's holiday entitlement will begin from the month your child starts Nursery and cannot be carried over.
Term time only places will not be entitled to holiday concessions and will not be charged during holiday periods unless attending additional sessions.
We do not charge for Bank Holidays or if the Nursery should close for unforeseen circumstances.
