Dietary requirements
All dietary requirements can be catered for as long as we are notified in writing or you have filled in the relevant section on your child's registration form. We will try our best where possible to ensure alternative foods look similar to foods eaten by the rest of the group. If you would prefer your child not to have meat, then a vegetarian alternative will be available. This must be requested on the dietary requirements section of your child's registration form.
Children may bring in their own lunch and tea if preferred, but due to food hygiene regulations we cannot heat any food brought in, with the exception of pre-sealed jars of baby food.
We ask that you encourage a healthy diet in a named lunch box and that sweets and chocolate are saved for when children are at home. If any sweets or chocolate are found in a lunch box they will be put back into a child's box to take home at the end of their session.
We also ask that you do not send peanut products eg peanut butter sandwiches in lunch boxes as we may have some children at nursery with severe peanut allergies.
We are able to keep lunch boxes in the fridge or alternatively you can add an ice pack to your child's lunch box should it contain products that need to remain under a certain temperature such as yoghurts and cooked pasta or meat.
We have a four week cycle of menus. These are reviewed monthly and we try to ensure that the children are given a wide variety of foods and a well-balanced diet. If you have any suggestions for main meals or desserts they are always welcome! All foods are purchased fresh from Tesco's twice a week and prepared daily by our resident cook.
