Seedlings Children’s Centre

Brockenhurst College is the lead partner, working with a wide range of partner organisations and parent/community representatives, to set up and co-ordinate a range of local Children’s Centre services which will be provided across a wide, diverse rural area to include Beaulieu, Lyndhurst, Copythorne, Minstead, Brook, Bramshaw, Ashurst, Colbury, Netley Marsh Sway, Boldre and Brockenhurst.

From January 2009 services will be provided via a mobile bus which will travel across the area. In the initial phase from March 2008, services will be co-ordinated from a base at Highwood Road close to Brockenhurst village centre. This initiative aims to provide children under 5 with the best possible start in life, by providing high quality information and support to parents and families in the places where they can access these services.


From March 2008 the Children's Centre, based for an initial period on the same site as Highwood Nursery, will be open from 9.00 am - 5.00 pm Monday to Friday. A newly appointed staff team (see below) will be working across the mid-Forest area to consult with parents, families, staff from other agencies and children to put together a programme of services to meet the needs of local communities.
