What is Quickstart?

The quickstart scheme is a government funded initiative run by us in collaboration with Jobcentre Plus, local authorities and employers.

It is all about becoming work-ready by achieving practical outcomes through industry accreditations that then open pathways into employment.

You can get a referral for our help through Jobcentre Plus, or simply refer yourself by emailing employmentsupport@brock.ac.uk

Who can benefit?

If you live in Hampshire or Dorset, you can benefit from quickstart.

It is a straightforward, user-friendly process, with support and guidance from caring professionals.

Just ask any of the people who have started a new job through us.

The Employment Support Team at quickstart are here to help you get things moving.

They are located at Basepoint Enterprise Centre in Ocean Village, Southampton, and all you have to do is make contact.

They will help you break down barriers to starting work and build your confidence, making you work-ready.

What pathways are available?

Through quickstart you can access two kinds of pathways – Skills for Life pathways and Skills for Employment pathways.

Skills for Life pathways include programmes designed to build your confidence and self-esteem, along with others created to develop your practical skills related to numeracy, literacy and digital.

Meanwhile, Skills for Employment pathways give you industry recognised accreditations like the CSCS Card for construction work, or the SIA qualification for security work, among others.
