You will need to register with the AAT which has a membership fee of approximately £130.



Course introduction

You can take your first steps towards building a successful career in accounting by completing this AAT accredited course.

It is designed for people who are new to accounting as well as accountancy workers who have yet to gain a formal qualification.


Course structure

This course is delivered over 2 evenings per week over 30 weeks and comprises five units and five assessments.

You will learn about basic accounting practices including costing, double-entry bookkeeping and computerised accounting.

In addition, you will acquire skills in self-management along with an appreciation of ethical issues and sustainability.


Minimum entry requirements

No formal qualifications are required, but you must be over 18 and be able to demonstrate good levels of literacy and numeracy.

As a student you will need to register with AAT and pay a membership fee.

What can I do with this qualification?

Once you have completed this course you will be more employable and/or a greater asset to your employer organisation.

You will also be eligible to take your learning further by enrolling on our AAT Level 3 Accounting qualification.
