Bag Making Workshop

Course Details

Do you want a bag that is unique?
Learn how to construct a simple tote bag suitable for everyday use, that can be customised for beach, travelling or used as a baby bag.  For those who have already made the basic bag you can choose from a wide variety of bags to make so that you can add to your skills. 

Work at your own pace and have fun along the way. 

You will be taught by means of practical demonstration and hands on experience.

Information & Support

Workshops will be offered throughout the year giving learners the opportunity to further develop their skills.

You will need to obtain an equipment and cutting list from the New Milton Centre for the particular style of bag you wish to make.
 Please also bring along:-
Sewing Machine – large sewing machine needle size 80 or 90 (as you will be sewing through several layers).
Walking foot for sewing machine (optional)
Basic sewing equipment – pins, scissors, tailors chalk, tape measure.  The Centre does have several sewing machines for student use - please advise the Centre on enrolment.

You may wish to bring a packed lunch.

Are there any age restrictions (young/old)?

Students need to be 19 years old or over.

There is no upper age limit.

Can I start the course part way through?

For some courses, this may be possible.  Please contact leisercourse@brock.ac.uk to confirm.

What do you define as a 'beginner'?

Beginner is someone who has little or no knowledge of the subject area.
