This course allows students to complete a GCE Biology AS level qualification. It has the convenience and flexibility of being delivered mostly by distance learning.
Student support comprises of:
A two hour starter session available from September 2015 by arrangement with the course tutor. Six study workshops of two and a half hours duration in the evenings, provisionally in weeks commencing 28th September, 9th November, 20th January, 1st February, 7th March and 18th April 2016. In addition students will have up to five hours total individual support available via email, telephone or face to face tutorial.
Course Structure & Teaching Methods
Learning will be mostly by student self study using a dedicated textbook with online support and an extensive range of resources available through the college's Virtual Learning Environment (eBrock). It is therefore essential to have access to the internet.

Information & Support
The Unit 1 exam and 2 exams (1hr 30-mins) can be taken in May/June 2016. All examinations are sat at the main college campus.

Completion of the AS Level allows progression onto the A2 Distance Learning course to achieve a full A level qualification in Biology and then onto university or employment.
