Course introduction

The course is designed for anyone working in any industry in which they have to deal with administration duties and the process of administrative procedures.

To achieve the level 2 NVQ Certificate in Business and Administration you must achieve a minimum of 21 credits overall, of which a minimum of 14 credits must be at level 2, additional credits may be chosen from level 1 or level 3 units.  The units are selected from a wide variety of business and administration tasks which will be chosen to best suit your job role and responsibilities.  The number of units completed will depend on the credit value of the units chosen.

Mandatory Units:
201 – Manage own performance in a business environment.
202 – Improve own performance in a business environment.
203 – Work in a business environment.
204 – Communicate in a business envrionment.

Course structure

An NVQ Certificate is a level 2 qualification designed to be completed in the workplace.  It is a competence based qualification, where you will produce a portfolio of evidence to meet performance criteria and demonstrate knowledge in your chosen area.

Minimum entry requirements

The Skills Development team can assess your specific learning support needs and give specialist help for hearing or visually impaired students and those with specific learning difficulties.

How will I be assessed?

A fully qualified assessor will visit you at work once every two weeks for approximately 90 minutes.

You will receive support and guidance throughout your NVQ certificate.

You will receive feedback on work produced.

We will be flexible and fit in with the needs of your business and job requirements.

Your work will be sampled on an ongoing basis by a qualified verifier.

The course length is 6 months but this may vary according to each individual.

Depending on your previous level of qualification, this course may be eligible for Government funding, please contact us to discuss further.

Practical help and advice is also provided to assist students with any kind of disability or individual need, including people for whom English is not their first language. Please contact our centre staff to discuss your needs prior to starting your course.

What can I do with this qualification?

On completion of this programme you can progress to NVQ level 3 in Administration if your job role is sufficient to warrant the extra responsibility of a supervisory level.
