Chalk Pastel Techniques
Course Details
You can enjoy exploring the vibrant coloured pigments of this unique medium by selecting this learning opportunity. You will also explore how to use related dry media such as charcoal and hard pastel. In addition, through a range of activities across a wide variety of subject matter you can experience the possibilities of colour and texture provided by chalk pastels. You will have opportunities to appraise the work of renowned artists such as Edgar Degas, Mary Cassatt and Odilon Redon as well.
Information & Support
Materials required:
- Box of 12 or more assorted colour soft pastels/chalks.
- Pad of pastel paper, assorted colours – A4 or A3.
- Brown parcel or packing paper – several sheets or a small roll.
- Envelopes, folders or cheap paper to carry your work without smudging.
- Apron or an old shirt to protect clothes.
- Newspaper to cover table.

Students need to be 19 years old or over.
There is no upper age limit.
