This course is for those with a little or a lot of experience of working with their digital cameras who wish to gain more understanding of basic controls and functions whilst shooting on location, using the local environment for some beautiful Christmas scenes. It is also for those who want to create a basic Christmas card in Photoshop using their own images. The course will cover the basic settings on your camera which will ensure you have full control over your Christmas photography. Framing and artistic effects will be the main focus in order to provide you with images to work on in the second half of the workshop. You will learn how to enhance some of the effects you used whilst shooting with different settings and techniques in Photoshop and add text and shaping to create a Christmas card design that everyone will love! There will be the opportunity to practice your techniques in an outdoor setting (weather permitting) as well as bring them back and work on them in class.
Please note:- Weather permitting – the first half of the course will be taught on location. We will then return to Fusee House for the remainder of the day to work on our images. However, if the weather does not permit location shooting, we can either shoot a Christmas still life indoors or students can use their own or Tutor supplied images to create a Christmas card. The location for the first half of the class will be advised nearer the time, when the Tutor has assessed the weather conditions.
You will be taught by means of demonstration and explanation followed by hands-on experience.
