Course Details

Learn how to draw flowers using coloured pencils.  Explore various shading and colour mixing and blending techniques, light/dark, positive/negative relationships in drawing this subject matter.  You will learn how to draw single flower studies and flowers within a simple still life with glass vase.  You will also experiment on white and tonal paper. 

The Tutor will demonstrate various techniques throughout the day.

Courses and workshops will be offered throughout the year giving learners the opportunity to further develop their skills.

 

Information & Support

Please bring along –

2b Pencil and Blu Tack for rubbing out and lifting high lights.

Set of coloured pencils (if you do not have these, the Tutor will have some that can be made available for use during the workshop).

Good quality cartridge paper – can be bought in sheets or pads.

Sheet of dark paper (grey or black). 

The course Tutor will have some suitable resources for painting or you may wish to bring along your own.

You may wish to bring a packed lunch.

Practical help and advice is also provided to assist students with any kind of disability or individual need, including people for whom English is not their first language. Please contact our centre staff to discuss your needs prior to starting your course.

Are there any age restrictions (young/old)?

Students need to be 19 years old or over.
