Course Details

The course will involve experimenting with media and exploring various compositional solutions to a variety of subject matter.

The course is suitable for those who wish to undertake a structured course in drawing and painting.

You will be taught through demonstration, discussion, practice and sharing ideas.

Information & Support

Courses run continually throughout the year offering learners the opportunity to further develop their skills.

What do I need to bring to the course?  Please bring along a 2B pencil and cartridge paper.  Extra costs will include drawing and painting media.  You may find it useful to keep a sketchbook to contain all the projects given.  The Tutor will advise you as to what drawing and painting equipment you may need to purchase during the first sessions.

Practical help and advice is also provided to assist students with any kind of disability or individual need, including people for whom English is not their first language. Please contact our centre staff to discuss your needs prior to starting your course.

Are there any age restrictions (young/old)?

Students need to be 19 years old or over.

There is no upper age limit.

Can I start the course part way through?

For some courses, this may be possible.  Please contact leisercourse@brock.ac.uk to confirm.

What do you define as a 'beginner'?

Beginner is someone who has little or no knowledge of the subject area.

What do you define as 'intermediate'?

Intermediate is for those who have completed a beginners course with us or have some knowledge of the subject but would like to learn more.
