Course Details

You will learn how to draw and paint various animals in the landscape by studying shapes and composition.

You will also explore scale and colour mixing. 

The tutor will demonstrate various techniques at relevant points throughout the day.

Information & Support

Please bring with you:

  • 2B pencil & eraser and/or pen if you wish to work with pen and wash. 
  • Watercolours and/or acrylics - Bring whatever paints you would like to work in but suitable colours would be raw siena, ultramarine, alizarin crimson, lemon yellow. If you have individual colours then indigo would also be useful.
  • Paper - A good quality watercolour paper 300 gsm (not smooth surface). Bockingford is a good choice and suitable for watercolours and acrylics. Bring the size you are most comfortable with either in a pad or individual sheets (purchased from art shops).
  • Brushes -  Synthetic brushes will be fine however if you have any Sable brushes please bring these, flat or round minimum size 6 (round).
  • Suitable visual resources will be available but you may wish to bring your own.

Additional courses and workshops will be offered throughout the year giving learners the opportunity to further develop their skills.

Students need to be 19 years old or over.

There is no upper age limit.
