Course Details

This course aims to provide you with basic techniques in drawing and painting through a range of subjects and media, e.g. a still life using different materials to create a tonal drawing.

Suitable for those with little or no experience, and those hoping to improve existing skills.

You will be taught through demonstration, discussion and sharing ideas.  This course is held at the Greyfriars Community Centre, 44 Christchurch Road, Ringwood. BH24 1DW.

What do I need to bring to the course? Advice will be given on specific equipment including paints as needed. To the first class please bring a small range of drawing equipment including B pencils, charcoal, A3 drawing pad, black biro or pen.

Are there any age restrictions (young/old)?

Students need to be 19 years old or over.

There is no upper age limit.

Can I start the course part way through?

For some courses, this may be possible.  Please contact leisurecourses@brock.ac.uk to confirm.

What do you define as a 'beginner'?

Beginner is someone who has little or no knowledge of the subject area.

Intermediate is for those who have completed a beginners course with us or have some knowledge of the subject but would like to learn more.
