NVQ Diploma in Installing Electrotechnical Systems (Electrical Installations).
Teaching & learning
The course will be delivered using a wide variety of teaching methods. Theory units will include lectures, group discussions, group activities and research tasks.
You will also learn from a range of digital and paper resources to gain a solid understanding of best practice.
Practical content will assist you in gaining and developing understanding and experience of inspection, testing and commissioning, as well as fault diagnosis and rectification in electrical installations.
The course is made up of units and the content is very diverse and challenging to prepare you for work in the industry.
A multi skilled operative is always in demand and the benefit of skills and knowledge will help you become more employable or quite simply able to do tasks you never thought you would have the opportunity of accomplishing.
Minimum entry requirements
Literacy and Numeracy at appropriate level for Apprentices in the trade.

How will I be assessed?
Assessment will be carried out as you progress through the course.
Information & support
This is a practical, work-related course, that may require some work experience.
You will be taught by means of practical demonstration and hands on experience. All materials and tools are provided but safety footwear is required in the workshop and work clothes are recommended. No formal assessment takes place but you will be given feedback as to how to improve your skills and techniques.

What can I do with this qualification?
With further training or study, students may progress into careers in the Construction industry.
