It is the must have qualification for all employees in the catering and hospitality industry where food is prepared, cooked and served.
Suitable for pubs, hotels, restaurants, care homes, schools, volunteers, fast-food outlets, contract caterers, etc.
The course will cover the following subjects:
- The law
- Food safety hazards
- Refrigeration, chilling and cold holding of foods
- Cooking, hot holding and reheating of foods
- Food handling
- Principles of safe food storage
- Food premises and equipment
The course is classroom taught with an accredited, qualified and experienced tutor.
Minimum entry requirements
You will need to bring a pencil and a notepad, a comprehensive handbook is also supplied and will cover all the information required to pass the examination.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment is by a short 30 question multiple choice paper.

What can I do with this qualification?
Following this course you may wish to undertake qualifications in Level 3 Award in Food Safety, Foundation Certificate in HACCP or the Intermediate Certificate in HACCP.
