This qualification is aimed at you if you are, or intend to be, a food handler working in catering. The goal is to prepare you for employment in a catering role or support you in your current role.
Importantly, you will learn how food safety is the responsibility of everyone involved in the storage, preparation, cooking, service and handling of food.
Minimum entry requirements
You will be required to bring a pencil and a notepad.
You will be provided with a comprehensive handbook which will cover all the information required to pass the exam.
How will I be assessed?
This qualification can be assessed through a multiple-choice examination or open response workbook.
Information & support
This programme lasts seven hours and we recommend that it is taken over one day as guided learning.
You can choose whether to have the course delivered in your workplace or at the College.
Course fees & Duration
The fees are £55 per person or £550 for a group of 12.
What can I do with this qualification?
Following this course you may wish to undertake qualifications in Level 3 Award in Food Safety, Foundation Certificate in HACCP or the Intermediate Certificate in HACCP.
