Course Details

This is a short course for learners who wish to use the internet on their own laptop.

By the end of the course, you will understand:

  • Connecting to WiFi.
  • Browsing software.
  • The meaning behind web addresses/URLs.
  • Using web site addresses.
  • Search engines.
  • Logical operators.
  • Bookmarking/favourites.
  • Browsing history.
  • Cookies

Information & Support

Please bring along writing materials, notebook/A4 file and your laptop.

The teaching is tutor led in well-equipped rooms with explanations, demonstrations, lectures, question and answer and discussions.

Please let our staff know if you need any additional support or reasonable adjustments - we will do all we can to help. We can also tailor learning materials to suit particular needs.

Additional courses and workshops will be offered throughout the year giving learners the opportunity to further develop their skills.

What do you define as a 'beginner'?

Beginner is someone who has little or no knowledge of the subject area.

What do you define as 'intermediate'?

Intermediate is for those who have completed a beginners course with us or have some knowledge of the subject but would like to learn more.

Students need to be 19 years old or over.

There is no upper age limit.
