This Award is for learners wishing to apply for the Construction Skills Certification Scheme Green Card or to increase knowledge of health and safety within the construction environment.
The CSCS Green Card is intended for those working in labouring occupations only. From July 2014 CSCS has introduced a new requirement for applicants to achieve a formal knowledge based qualification, the ‘Health and Safety in a Construction Environment’ Award.
Achievement of this award will demonstrate the applicant’s understanding of key issues affecting safe working practices on UK construction sites.
Course Structure & Teaching Methods
You will receive a tutor lead session to enable you to gain the knowledge in health and safety in construction needed to pass the award.
Following the successful completion of this award you will also have to pass the CSCS test to gain both certificates to be able to apply for the CSCS Labourer card.
Assessment is via an online multiple choice test which will be completed as part of the training day.
Information & Support
Please note certificates can take up to 4 weeks to arrive once the test has been passed; the green card cannot be able to apply for without the certificate. You will also need to sit the CSCS test at an accredited testing centre, information on how to do this will be provided on the course.
Training can be completed in Southampton or Brockenhurst. Courses are arranged at a time convenient for your business and can be based at your workplace.
You can gain further skills in construction related courses which are available in Plumbing, Bricklaying and Carpentry if you wish to widen your knowledge of different trades.
