You can gain knowledge of the basic health and safety practices essential in the workplace thanks to this qualification.
It is designed to give you an understanding of the responsibilities of employers and employees, the benefits of good health and safety, and the steps involved in a risk assessment.
You will also learn how risk assessments can reduce accidents, near-misses and ill-health and about typical hazards and controls in a workplace.
Other topics include common causes of accidents and ill health, emergency procedures and the importance of recording incidents.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment is by multiple-choice exam.

This programme lasts 10 hours, six of which we recommend you undertake as guided learning over one day.
You can choose to take the course either in your workplace or at the College.
Course fees & Duration
The fee is £55 per person or £550 for a group of 12.
What can I do with this qualification?
Following this course you may wish to undertake qualifications in Manual Handling, COSHH, Risk Assessment or the Level 3 Certificate in Supervising Health and Safety.
