Italian for Beginners

Course Details

The course is aimed at absolute beginners in Italian who want to acquire a basic knowledge of the language to communicate in practical situations.

Students will learn and practise fundamental language skills, helping them develop basic communication and gain a secure understanding of the essentials of life in Italy.

This course is suitable for those with no knowledge of the Italian language, but who are willing to make mistakes, have a go and learn.

Courses will be offered throughout the year giving learners the opportunity to further develop their skills and progress to Improving Beginners and then Improvers. Please see our current Leisure Courses brochure for details.

The key skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing Italian will be practiced in an engaging and supportive way with a range of tasks and activities set during the lesson as well as regular homework.

Students will be encouraged to purchase a textbook and/or grammar/dictionary/verb books according to previous experience.

Students need to be 19 years old or over.

There is no upper age limit.

Beginner is someone who has little or no knowledge of the subject area.
