This relaxed and friendly workshop will expand your wirework skills to a new level. Forget scratchy and angular pieces of Jewellery you'll make beautiful, comfortable, stylish Jewellery that you'll be proud to wear.
You will learn about the properties of a range of metal wire and how to shape wire by hand forging and using forms and mandrels. As well as learning how to coil, wrap, spiral, cage and weave wire, and how to create cold connections. You will learn to combine traditional and contemporary Jewellery making techniques. You will begin by learning how to create basic shapes,, moving on to more challenging shapes and pieces, it's then up to you what you make.
You will be using silver plated round wire and combining these with glass and crystal beads, Freshwater Pearls and semi precious beads and stones to create a range of original earrings, bracelets, pendants and necklaces. You will usually be able to complete one or two pieces in the session, more if you choose less involved projects.
Who is the course for? — Suitable for the Beginner and those with some knowledge of Jewellery Making. Adaptations can be made which can challenge the more advanced Jewellery maker.
What are the aims of the course?— To provide the skills to make Jewellery in an exciting and fun environment, the emphasis is on designing and making Jewellery which you will love to wear.
What does the course involve? —You will, under guidance, design and create your own individual piece of Jewellery.
What topics will I be covering? — Designing, hand and mandrel forming, texturing, cold connections, wrapping, coiling and caging.

There will be an additional charge which will start from around £8 per piece (based on a necklace) and will depend on how many projects you choose to make.
