Knitting – All Abilities

Course Details

Beginners
The beginners course will start at the very beginning, looking at casting on and off, types of yarn, tension, various stitches, increasing and decreasing, needle size etc.  You will learn how to follow a pattern to complete various small projects throughout the course.

Improvers

Improvers will be undertaking more advanced work to build on existing skills and techniques.  A variety of more complicated stitches will be introduced including cables, colour-work etc.

Comprehensive instruction sheets are provided at each session.

Information & Support

This is a mixed ability course and will cater for all levels.

You will be taught by means of practical demonstration and hands on experience.

Equipment needed for the first session:

4 mm knitting needles

1 x 50g ball of double knitting wool

1 x blunt-ended wool needle.

Further advice will be given as to the other items you will need to bring as the course progresses.

What do you define as a 'beginner'?

Beginner is someone who has little or no knowledge of the subject area.

What do you define as 'intermediate'?

Intermediate is for those who have completed a beginners course with us or have some knowledge of the subject but would like to learn more.

Are there any age restrictions (young/old)?

Students need to be 19 years old or over.

There is no upper age limit.
