On completing this qualification, candidates will be able to:

The course covers:
- Workplace Safety.
- Occupational Health and Hygiene.
- Safe Systems of Work.
- Techniques of Safety Management.
- Education and Training.
A variety of teaching methods are used, these include class teaching, assignment work and group activities. Wherever possible case studies and examples will be based on the candidate’s own workplace.
Minimum entry requirements
This course is suitable for managers and supervisors in all types of organisations with the practical skills and knowledge to manage health and safety within their workplace.
A Level 3 knowledge of health and safety is recommended.
You will need to bring a pencil and a notepad, a comprehensive handbook is also supplied and will cover all the information required to pass the examination.
How will I be assessed?
Candidates are required to complete two course work assignments and complete a 2½ hour written examination.

Knowledge and experience can be added to by attending the Certificate in Risk Assessment, Principles of COSHH and Principles of Manual Handling or the Advanced Health & Safety Programe.
