Course introduction

This course aims to extends your knowledge beyond the basics of Microsoft Word.

Covers units including:

  • Access/open generic and non-generic files
  • Save files in appropriate format
  • Protect files
  • Archive files
  • Work with sections and columns
  • Use references
  • Format tables
  • Use print options
  • Create and manage document templates
  • Use mail merge
  • Import text, data and image files
  • Use special symbols
  • Set up and use styles

Course structure

The teaching is tutor led in well-equipped rooms with explanations, demonstrations, lectures, question and answer and discussion.  Each learner has the use of a computer.  The software used is Windows 7, Microsoft Office 2010.

Minimum entry requirements

Please bring along writing materials, notebook/A4 file.
