Course Details

This course is suitable for students who wish to learn the art of Patchwork & Quilting to produce a range of quilted items.

The course will cover patchwork piecing including curved piecing, appliqué, quilting and techniques required to produce completed projects, such as bags, cushions and quilts.

All projects and techniques will be accompanied with handouts for students to keep.

You will be given handouts with some history, templates and patterns to trace and use.

Information & Support

Previous sewing experience is required including the competent use of a sewing machine.

Experienced sewers may not need previous knowledge of patchwork and quilting - if unsure please contact the New Milton Adult Learning Centre as the Tutor will be happy to discuss any concerns.

Some classes will require sewing machines.

What do you define as a 'beginner'?

Beginner is someone who has little or no knowledge of the subject area.

What do you define as 'intermediate'?

Intermediate is for those who have completed a beginners course with us or have some knowledge of the subject but would like to learn more.

Are there any age restrictions (young/old)?

Students need to be 19 years old or over.

There is no upper age limit.
