Photoshop Advanced Workshop – Portrait Retouching Techniques

Photoshop Advanced Workshop – Portrait Retouching Techniques

Course Details

This course is aimed at photographers who want to retouch their images.  We will commence by discussing what we are trying to achieve by retouching and what we are not trying to achieve, to give us a retouching framework.

We will then work through a complete retouching workflow using a range of Photoshop tools and creating some of our own.

Pre-requisites: a working knowledge of Photoshop Layers and Layer Masks or completion of the Photoshop Layers and Layer Masks workshop prior to this course.

Different types of images require different approaches to retouching.  We will look at retouching female and male images, smoothing skin to retain detail, brightening eyes, adding catch lights, removing hot spots, enhancing hair colour and shine, reshaping and sculpting along with creative sharpening and other local adjustments aimed at portraits.

Please bring a note book and pen and any images you would like to discuss (time permitting).  Please also bring a packed lunch.

During the class we will make several Actions.  If you wish to save the Actions you have created to use at home, please bring a USB memory stick with you.

Course handouts will be available to assist you to practice the tools and techniques learnt at home so you may wish to bring something to keep hand-outs in.
