Course Details

This workshops gives a hand-on opportunity to enhance your photographic skills in shooting products.  You will learn how to light an object by using a variety of light sources from natural light to a studio set-up.

During the day we will be looking at:

·         Shooting using daylight or available light.

·         Shooting in a studio set-up.

·         Choosing light types and set-ups for certain products.

·         Creating a workspace.

·         Backgrounds and prop choices and positioning.

·         Using reflectors, diffusers, control and balance of light, quality of light.

·         Camera control and settings, angles, viewpoint, exposure and colour correction.

·         Shooting tethered to a computer.

·         Simple post production techniques to clean up and enhance your images using Photoshop.

This is a hands on course so no experience is necessary but it is essential that you know your camera controls.

This class is limited to 12 students.

Please bring a notebook and pen, your digital camera, memory card/s, fully charged batteries and charger, along with your camera instruction manual and any other camera equipment you may have that could be useful such as a tripod, reflectors, filters, etc.

Course hand-outs will be available to assist you to practice tools and techniques learnt at home. You also wish to bring a packed lunch with you.

You will be taught by means of practical demonstration and hands on experience.

Students need to be 19 years old or over.

There is no upper age limit.
