Using your MacBook – Part 2

Course Details

This is a short course for beginners who wish to bring along their own MacBook and learn how to find their way around it. This is a follow on course from part 1. 

By the end of the course the student will understand:- how to use iTunes, how to use iPhotos – creating photobooks, slideshows and moviemaking, sharing media, an introduction to MyPages (word processing software) – working with documents, creating, saving, formatting, sharing, dictation, and introduction to MyNumbers (spreadsheet software) – creating, structuring and formatting spreadsheets, simplet formula and charts. 

The teaching is tutor led in well equipped rooms with demonstrations, lectures, question and answer and group discussion sessions. 

Information & Support

You will be able to progress on to part 3. 

Please bring along writing materials, notebook or A4 file and your MacBook computer.  You may also want to bring a packed lunch. 

Practical help and advice is also provided to assist students with any kind of disability or individual need, including people for whom English is not their first language.  Please contact our Centre staff to discuss your needs prior to starting your course.

Are there any age restrictions (young/old)?

Students need to be 19 years old or over.

There is no upper age limit.

Can I start the course part way through?

What do you define as a 'beginner'?

Beginner is someone who has little or no knowledge of the subject area.
