Course Details

An ever popular course on which wet on wet, masking, dry brush, and big brush watercolour techniques will be explored.

No prior experience required for this course, it is open to those with either little or no experience. The course also facilitates learners with prior knowledge of watercolour.  Maximum of 10 students on this course. 

Students are encouraged to continue on to the Spring and Summer term sessions to increase knowledge and experience in painting in watercolour.  In the Spring term we will be looking at  the painting of the Landscape using watercolour techniques and the use of advanced watercolour techniques using colour experimentation and theory will be explored. In the Summer Term we will move on to the painting of seascape and the use of advanced watercolour techniques using arial perspective theory will be explored.

Students who have gained sufficient knowledge and confidence will be encouraged to make applications to the Fordingbridge Art Society and Alderholt Art Society. 

 

Information & Support

Teaching will be by practical demonstrations of all techniques taught.  Tutor will talk with individual discussion and advice.  Demonstration of difficult pictures and coping with problem areas.

Students will be asked to provide basic sketching materials including an A4/A3 watercolour sketchbook and watercolour paints/brushes. Further equipment suggestions will be discussed as the course proceeds depending on the students needs and the desired outcomes.
