Course Details

Writing techniques are studied in class, which will help to improve the quality of the autobiography.  Published work will be studied. The tutor is an experienced and published writer.

Students are encouraged to write a little each week at home.  They can, if they wish, read their work aloud in class to gain advice, suggestions and comment from the tutor and other students. 

Information & Support

Suitable for people of all ages who would like to write their own life story for their families to read, perhaps with a view to publication.

What do I need to bring to the course?
Pen and paper to class.
If writing to be published you will need a computer or typewriter. 

Courses are run continually, and you will be able to join these to further develop your skills.

Can I start the course part way through?

For some courses, this may be possible.  Please contact leisurecourses@brock.ac.uk to confirm.

What do you define as a 'beginner'?

Beginner is someone who has little or no knowledge of the subject area.

What do you define as 'intermediate'?

Intermediate is for those who have completed a beginners course with us or have some knowledge of the subject but would like to learn more.

What do you define as 'advanced'?

Advanced for those who have completed an intermediate course with us or are proficient in the subject.

Are there any age restrictions (young/old)?

Students need to be 19 years old or over.

There is no upper age limit.
