Teaching & learning
You will learn in a variety of ways including through research, discussion, assignments, coursework and case studies.

Watching demonstrations and carrying out treatments on clients, as well as each other, is also high on the learning agenda.
A trip to one of London’s best beauty exhibitions is a particular highlight of the course.
Minimum entry requirements
Four GCSEs at grade 4 and above to include:
• English Language
• Maths
• Science
You must be at least 16 years of age and have completed the Beauty Specialist Level 2 Diploma.
Course structure
- Acquire important knowledge about human anatomy and physiology that employers want to see.
- Learn skills in body massage, hot stone massage, Indian head massage, aromatherapy and facial body electrics.
- Evidence your development through assignments on complementary therapies, health and safety, and the beauty industry in general.
- Further develop and practise the skills you learned at Level 2.
- Improve your Maths and English skills in preparation for entry into the profession.
What can I do with this qualification?
This qualification can lead to a variety of career opportunities including becoming a beauty therapist or massage therapist in salons, spas and on cruise ships.
A number of past students have gone on to become nail technicians and sports therapists, with some establishing their own businesses.
Other career options include becoming a representative for a beauty products supplier.
Alternatively, with more training you could become a holistic therapist, aroma therapist, reflexologist or acupuncturist, among other things.
