Course introduction
Learn how to use water-soluble coloured pencils, Inktense, and any other pencils you may have. You will experiment with the various ways you can use your pencils, including dry, dry on wet paper, wet on wet paper, spraying with water and flicking. You will explore figures in movement and in a variety of poses within the landscape and other settings. Importantly, you can increase your confidence through practice. Your Tutor will demonstrate various techniques throughout the day and handouts will be available.
Information & support
Please bring with you any water-soluble, coloured or graphite pencils you have – including watercolour pencils, Inktense, and other branded pencils such as Acquatone (Derwent). There are many different types on the market, so please bring what you have. Your Tutor will have a supply that can be used on the day. Cartridge paper is a good idea – not too thin and preferably with a matt surface. A sheet or Pad of 300gsm Bockingford Not Watercolour Paper (any reputable art shop will be able to advise you). Watercolour brushes and suitable visual resources will be available. However, you may wish to bring your own.
