Course introduction

Every artist is unique and Fine Art covers a huge range of art and design practice, both contemporary and historic.

Our teachers will develop your ability to appreciate the visual world and give you the confidence to respond in personal and imaginative ways.

You will also draw inspiration from the work of other artists as you develop your own unique creative practice. As a result, you will produce dynamic artwork with confidence and independence.

Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to explore possibilities within a wide range of art, media and techniques in order to extend your knowledge and skills.

Why choose
Fine Art A Level?

At Brock you will be taught by experienced teachers who have in depth subject knowledge, including experience of working and exhibiting professionally.

Our spacious Fine Art studio provides a professional-standard working environment and is similar to facilities at Higher Education level.

In this creative environment you will have many opportunities to mix with likeminded fellow students, who, along with you, help to enrich our Fine Art community.

Teaching & learning

Fine Art is very much a hands-on practical course, and you will be encouraged to experiment and explore; therefore taking risks and discovering new ways of expressing your thoughts, feelings and ideas.

You will benefit from constructive feedback and advice through individual tutorials and there will be opportunities for group discussion and critique as well.

Your teachers will encourage you to enter competitions and participate in trips. Plus your work will be showcased at our annual exhibition at the end of year two.
