Genealogy on the Internet

You will learn how to organise and source your family history and research details on your home computer.

This course aims to provide you with the skills to enter your family history data/information into a typical genealogy software program.

The course will also enable you to compile an online family tree on various websites if this is appropriate to your needs.

The course consists of tutor led teaching in well equipped rooms with explanations, demonstrations, lectures, questions and answer sessions and discussion.

There is no formal assessment attached to this course, but advice and feedback will be offered by the Tutor for you to proceed further with this fascinating hobby.

Information & support

This course is suitable for anyone who possesses basic family history information. It would be desirable if you have researched family history data to enable you to enter details for three generations.

It is also useful if you have previously prepared a brief outline of your family tree to date and to bring any birth, marriage or death certificates in your possession to enable you to enter detailed information on the computer. 

You will require basic computing skills.

Please bring along writing materials, notebook/A4 file.
