Course introduction
This learning opportunity is designed to develop your passion in digital media, teaching you skills that will take you into work, an apprenticeship or a higher-level course.
Your timetable will allow you time to participate in enrichment activities, known at Brock as Brock-Extra and Clubs & Societies.

Level 1 Certificate in Digital Media?
At Brock our aim is to improve the skills you already have and identify talents you may not have realised you possess.
Your teachers will not only be experts in their subject but will also be skilled at helping you – especially if you need a little extra support.
We opened a £4.9m Foundation and Independence Hub in 2023, where you will be based.
The building includes 14 new classrooms, social space, meeting rooms and a student kitchen.

Teaching & learning
This course is a mixture of modern classroom-based teaching, practical sessions and work experience.
You will take photographs using a range of different methods, using the campus as one of your subjects.
You will also deliver presentations to your peers and tutors.
Meanwhile, computer technology will play a leading role in enhancing your academic and practical skills.
There will be both individual and group work, with assignments set throughout the year.
Course assessment
Assessment will be through coursework, independent assignments and tutor observations.
Minimum entry requirements
Four GCSEs at grade 2, including English Language.
This course may be suitable for you if:
You have an EHCP and we can meet your Special Educational Needs.
You learn best in small groups.
You have some gaps in your learning.
What can I do with this qualification?
If you achieve an overall MERIT grade, along with an excellent attendance record, and the appropriate level of English and maths, you could be eligible to progress to a Level 2 course.
Alternatively, you may decide to move into employment or seek an apprenticeship.
