Course introduction
Are you a creative person who is passionate about performing drama, dance and music? If so, you will definitely feel at home studying this Performing Arts Extended Diploma.
As a student you will benefit from a wide range of practical opportunities to create, develop and perform your work. You will also learn and develop skills through a variety of approaches, projects and productions.
From day one you will be encouraged to apply yourself to projects with motivation and a sense of ownership.
Although largely practical, this course contains a coursework element through which you will explore contemporary and classical performance.

You will benefit from two studio theatres, a large performance space, four sound studios, two sprung dance studios, three rehearsal studios, props and costume areas, two Mac suites, and two lighting and sound gantries.
Your teachers will regularly bring professional performance companies into the College to run workshops and give performances.
Teaching & learning
This course is delivered through practical workshops, skills sessions, coursework, rehearsals and public performances.
It also includes opportunities to analyse the work of professional and semi-professional performers through a series of theatre trips.
Importantly, your work will be graded internally by our experienced staff and then verified by the awarding body.

Minimum entry requirements
Four GCSEs at grade 4 and above to include:
- English Language
- Drama (if taken)
- Maths
- Merit or Distinction Performing Arts Level 2
You will also be required to attend an audition to join this course.
