Photography – A Journey of Discovery

This is a three-term course. In term one (Discovering Photography) you will learn how to get off the auto settings and get to grips with your digital camera. In term two (Developing your Photography) you will focus on expanding and enhancing your new skills and knowledge. In term three (Getting Creative with your Photography) you will explore applying your new knowledge and skills to a range of concepts and compositions.

Information & support

The first term is for anyone who wants to learn about their camera and photography, no prior knowledge is required. The second term builds on the foundational skills from term one and explores more advanced techniques. The final term is aimed at developing students into competent and confident photographers who can exhibit their work in a camera club setting, magazines or indeed on social media and the television. The course will help you develop the skills to get the best out of your camera and equipment. You will be taught through presentations, discussions, practical demonstrations and hands-on experience. Please bring a notebook and pen, your digital camera, memory card(s) and fully charged batteries and charger, along with your camera instruction manual and any other camera equipment you may have that could be useful. This could include a tripod, reflectors and/or filters. Course handouts will be available to assist you in practising various techniques at home.
