Photography Workshop – Close-Up and Macro Photography

We will be looking at equipment and techniques used in Close-up and Macro Photography, before putting some of the techniques into action.

This one-day workshop will look at the various techniques you can use such as:

• Choice of background, understanding depth of field and how to use it.
• The use of focus stacking to achieve front and back focus.
• Ways of increasing magnification using a macro lens, filters, extension tubes, etc.
• Close-up and Macro lighting techniques.

The workshop will start by reviewing equipment and techniques of Close-up and Macro Photography before moving onto shooting and image processing.

You will be taught by means of presentation, discussion, practical demonstration and hands on experience.

Information & support

Please bring a note book and pen, your digital camera, tripod, memory card(s) and fully charged batteries and charger, along with your camera instruction manual and any other camera equipment you may have that could be useful such as – reflectors, filters etc.   Please also bring a packed lunch.

Course hand-outs will be available to assist you to practice tools and techniques learnt at home.
