Photography Workshop – Digital Camera Basics – Part 1

Course introduction


Learn how to get off auto and get to grips with your digital camera and start taking control of your photography.  You will look at the key menu options and basic camera settings. No prior knowledge is required.

At the end of this workshop you will have a better feel for your camera’s switches, buttons and menus.

This workshop will help you develop a basic understanding of light, camera functions/settings such as white balance, scene modes, automatic and semi-automatic shooting modes, along with the use of the Histogram, metering and focusing options.

Course handouts will be available to assist you to practise the tools and techniques you learn at home.

Information & support


You will be taught by mean of practical demonstration and hands-on experience.

Please bring a notebook and pen, your digital camera, memory card(s) and fully charged batteries and charger as well as your camera instruction manual.  Please also bring a packed lunch.
